Brent Allen became interested in the arts as a child growing up in the natural splendor of the Yosemite National park area.  His love of nature and the old West inspired his first drawings of Native American portraits and mountain landscapes.  This love of art expanded in high School with the addition of music and drama to his varied interests. meguitar1

Eventually, art took a back seat to his musical interests however it was always a part of his studies throughout College.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an art minor from Fresno Pacific College in 1984. After a brief career in music/art education and church music, Brent went into the Gallery and design field.  He hasbeen working in this area for over 15 years and has managed Salem area galleries for over 12 years.

Brent has recently switched from watercolor to acrylic after a ten-year break from painting. His work with local and nationally renowned artists has inspired his own style which is part realism, part impressionism and a little bit of graphic illustration thrown in to the mix.

“Painting, to me is merely a reflection of God’s glorious nature not a re-creation of it. He alone can create the beauty in our lives.”  -Brent Allen

Brent manages the Elsinore Gallery in downtown Salem and coordinates shows and designs for the gallery.  He resides in West Salem with his wife Tami and enjoys hanging out with his three grandkids.
