While the snow still lingers in the high peaks, spring has arrived in the open valleys. A herd of pronghorn antelope grazes at east enjoying the fresh green shoots of grass just now beginning to emerge through the older grasses laid dormant under the many months of snow. A guardian buck gazes alertly across the meadow for the slightest sign of intrusion. Gifted with superb eyesight and incredible speed, the herd is seldom in any significant danger. As another cool spring day draws closer to an end, the herd pulls together . . . an “Early Evening Gathering.”
